This Friday as part of the Junction Design Crawl we will be hosting a free Night Flea from 6-10. Check out junctiondesigncrawl.com for more info on events by Flea friends Smash, Mjolk, ARTiculations, Fullstop, Opticianado, Narhwhal Art Projects and about a dozen others who are hosting design related events and installations who take part in this annual independent event. It's personally our favourite evening of the year and I'm sure you will all agree.

August 4th Evergreen Brickworks Flea

We are very pleased to announce our first Flea in partnership with Evergreen Brick Works on Sunday August 4th. With lots of new vendors as well as your old favourites in a stunning new venue.

For those of you who have never been to the Brick Works you are in for a great treat. We personally believe that the Brickworks is one of the most beautiful places in Toronto to spend time in. We will be dedicating a full post to the history of the Brickworks and Evergreen in the next few days to get you just as excited as we are about our new home.

New food vendor Candice Leung, our new in house food genius will be serving S'MORES to keep the crowds happy into the wee hours for the Night Flea June 22. Show up early, I have a feeling these will sell out fast!

As part of the Junction Summer Solstice Festival,  we will be hosting a Night Flea from 7-MIDNIGHT! Admission is free, and we are going to whip up a bunch of special night events for your nighttime pleasure!  Remember those million string lights that went up at the Great Hall for Christmas? They turned out to be a great investment because we're going to string them all over the lot, car dealership style! We are super-duper excited to announce that our buddies at Magic Pony will be at the June 9th Junction Flea. 

Magic Pony is dedicated to the exhibition and promotion of the best in young contemporary art. We operate as a studio, gallery and retail environment, combining elements of art, design and popular culture to create an unique shopping experience. As curators, printers and publishers, Magic Pony functions as a outlet for communicating and sharing new visual concepts.

Postcard from the May Flea

Junction Flea-RAIN OR SHINE!

 With record beautiful weather for the last twelve months, I suppose we had this coming to us! There was snow, hail, and rain! Not to mention only one person running the show due to fever caused delirium! The Chief Salvage's tent flew up and over the fence and down Dundas W, and not a cup of ice cold Flea Lemonade was sold (though I heard a rumour about some brave soul walking around the lot with an ice pop from Augie's).

With all of that, the vendors stuck it out and the Flea goers kept coming. Thank you to everyone from the bottom of our hearts for making it a 'memorable day', hopefully June 9th will be sunny and warm.

We're back in the Junction at the corner of Dundas and Indian Grove with 70+ food, craft and vintage dealers. The airstream pulled into the lot from the country at midnight last night, the containers got a fresh coat of paint this afternoon, and I've got my outfit planned (it will be an unseasonably low 10 C on Sunday which calls for vintage coveralls from Mrs Huizenga and no need for unfashionable practical hats, also no need to worry about pesky old sun stroke). Kalpna, who some of you may know as @ghostfaceknitta or Old Weston has made hundreds of feet of rainbow bunting. We have a new mascot that is going to blow your mind, carnival cutout style. We have beer.   

The flea runs from 9-4, rain or shine.

New food vendor: ESE SUAVECITO

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Ryan moved to Toronto to be with his number one ESE´, Peter. Ryan began cooking to alleviate his homesickness for the unique style of Mexican food found in LA.  This led to numerous pop-ups around town including the Toronto Underground Market and the start of ESE´; which is slang for a close friend. That's how Ryan and Peter approach their cooking, as though a friend would be coming over for dinner.  

ESE creates classic Mexican dishes with innovative ingredients and techniques that highlight the unique culinary landscape of Los Angeles.  

We're excited to be part of the March Junction Flea! Come stop by and watch as we make handmade tortillas to order for our tacos.  There's nothing quite like a fresh tortilla.
